Terms of service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Teratect online store (the "Site") and any purchase you make from Teratect ("Teratect," "we," "us," or "our"). By visiting the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your state, to place an order. We sell and ship only to addresses within the 48 contiguous United States.

2. Our store platform

The Site is hosted on Shopify. Payments are processed by Shopify Payments and other third-party payment providers, whose own terms also apply to your payment.

3. Products and descriptions

We try to describe and photograph every product accurately. Colors, textures and finishes may look different on your screen, and natural materials such as wood and woven fabrics vary from piece to piece. Dimensions are approximate. Please check measurements before ordering.

4. Prices and payment

All prices are in US dollars. Applicable sales tax is calculated at checkout. We may change prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders already confirmed. If a product is listed at an incorrect price because of an error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full, even after it is confirmed.

5. Orders

Your order is an offer to buy. We may refuse or cancel any order, for example if an item is out of stock, a pricing error occurs, or we suspect fraud. If we cancel after you have been charged, we will refund the full amount to your original payment method.

To cancel or change your order, contact us as soon as possible. Once an order has shipped, it can no longer be cancelled and must be returned under our Returns Policy.

6. Shipping and delivery

We offer free shipping to the 48 contiguous United States. We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, PO Boxes, APO/FPO addresses or outside the United States. Orders usually process within 1–3 business days and arrive within 7–14 business days after shipping. Delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees. Larger items may arrive in more than one box. Risk of loss passes to you when the order is delivered to the carrier. Full details are on our Shipping page.

7. Returns and refunds

Most items can be returned within 30 days of delivery, unused and in original condition. Return shipping is paid by the customer unless the item arrived damaged, defective or incorrect. Report damaged or missing items within 48 hours of delivery. Full details are in our Returns page and Refund Policy.

8. Product use and assembly

Follow all included assembly and care instructions. We are not responsible for damage or injury caused by improper assembly, misuse, modification, or normal wear and tear.

9. Your account

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us right away if you believe your account has been used without permission.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Site for any unlawful purpose, to interfere with its security or operation, to submit false information or fraudulent orders, or to copy, scrape or resell our content or products without our written permission.

11. Intellectual property

All content on the Site, including the Teratect name and logo, text, graphics, photos and design, belongs to Teratect or its licensors and is protected by law. You may not use it without our written permission.

12. Reviews and submissions

If you post a review, comment or photo, you confirm it is your own and truthful, and you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use, display and reproduce it in connection with our business. We may remove any content at our discretion.

13. Third-party links and services

The Site may link to or use services from third parties. We are not responsible for their content, products or practices.

14. Disclaimer of warranties

Except as required by law, the Site and all products are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Teratect disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some states do not allow these exclusions, so some may not apply to you.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Teratect and its owners, employees, suppliers and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or any product. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the product involved. Some states do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

16. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold harmless Teratect and its owners, employees and partners from any claims, losses or expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Either party may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms at any time by posting the new version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated Terms. Orders are governed by the Terms in effect when they were placed.

19. Severability and entire agreement

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Shipping page and Returns page, are the entire agreement between you and Teratect about the Site.
