Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Teratect ("Teratect," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses and shares your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from our online store (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here. Teratect sells and ships only within the United States.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you place an order, create an account, contact us or sign up for emails, we collect your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number and order details.

Payment information. Payments are handled by Shopify Payments and other payment processors (such as PayPal, Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay). We do not see or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically. When you browse the Site, we and our service providers collect your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring website, and how you interact with the Site. We collect this using cookies, pixels and similar technologies.

Information from others. We may receive information about you from our platform provider, payment processors, shipping carriers, marketing partners and fraud-prevention services.

2. How we use your information

To process, fulfill, ship and deliver your orders, including sending order confirmations and tracking updates
To provide customer support and handle returns, refunds and warranty questions
To detect and prevent fraud and keep the Site secure
To send marketing emails or texts if you opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time)
To understand how the Site is used and improve our products, website and service
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only as needed to run our business:

Shopify, which hosts our store. See Shopify's Privacy Policy.
Payment processors to complete transactions.
Suppliers, fulfillment partners and shipping carriers that make and deliver your order. Your name, shipping address and phone number are shared with them for delivery.
Service providers for email, analytics, customer support and fraud prevention, who may use your information only to provide services to us.
Advertising partners (such as Meta, Google or TikTok) when you interact with our ads or Site, as described in section 4.
Legal and safety reasons, such as responding to a subpoena or court order, or protecting our rights.
Business transfers, if Teratect is sold or merged with another business.

4. Cookies and advertising

We use cookies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, measure site traffic and show relevant ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the Site, like the cart, may not work properly.

Some of our advertising may count as "targeted advertising" or "sharing" under certain state laws. You can opt out using the method in section 6, or through industry tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as an opt-out request where required by law.

5. How long we keep your information

We keep order information for as long as needed for accounting, tax, warranty and legal purposes, generally up to 7 years. We keep marketing data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

6. Your privacy rights

Depending on your state of residence (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon and others), you may have the right to:

Know and access the personal information we hold about you
Correct inaccurate information
Delete your personal information
Receive a copy of your information in a portable format
Opt out of targeted advertising, sale or sharing of your information

To make a request, email teratect@hotmail.com or call (330) 520-2805. We will verify your identity before responding and will reply within the time required by law (usually 45 days). You may use an authorized agent. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

7. Marketing communications

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link at the bottom of any email. If you opted in to text messages, reply STOP to opt out. We will still send emails about your orders.

8. Children's privacy

The Site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information, and checkout is encrypted. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
